Meanbean - the Means to Hold Your Beans!

Meanbean was born of the love of crafting, combined with the love of my little one, whose nickname is MeanBean. What started out as experimentation to find the perfect bag, became a small time hobby and business selling my experiments to friends.

From there things just grew, and soon I found that I had a passion for making fun little bags to go inside a bag one already carries! Made with reclaimed materials, Meanbean bags are at least 50% recycled items. Many of the bags you see are created from outdated decorator sample books, donated from a local interior design firm.

We are moving toward lining our bags with satins, taffetas, silks, and more reclaimed from discarded clothing as well. Many of the zippers used also come from discarded clothing, and our hope is to have 100% reclaimed materials in every bag by 2009!

Our mission is to have as little impact on the environment as possible (buying locally, reclaiming materials, etc), while enabling you to have a trendy, fun bag to carry your essentials in!
